For a number of reasons, people may need or want to learn new skills throughout their career. Mircro-credentials offer a quicker, more accessible way of learning new skills, without having to complete an entire college or university degree.
The research was conducted in collaboration with Toronto Metropolitan University, and looks at how micro-credentials are used across Canada, different models for them, who is accessing micro-credentials, and what barriers there may be for education institutions to adopt micro-credentials.
This research helped in the early strategic development of the micro-credentials portal, and secured a collaboration with the Government of Ontario.
